• A multi-national corporation is seeking to purchase Gloucester water.
• Gloucester water could be sold without your citizen consent by any
mayor or city council.
• We do not have the highest water rates in the state or country.
• Our reservoirs are good, our pipes are bad.
Dear Fellow Taxpayer,
Welcome to "Who Decides?" "Who Decides?" is an organization of tax paying,
law abiding citizens concerned about the quality of our local drinking water, and about paying sensible water rates. Water is the "New Gold," Blue Gold, "New Oil," and the hottest commodity on the market today. Gloucester is being courted by major corporations to sell its water. As other communities have found out, selling water eventually leads to lower water quality and higher rates.
The water belongs to the people of Cape Ann and we have the right to determine what will become of our water. Will we have a choice? It's up to you!
The mission of "Who Decides?" is crystal clear. The mission of "Who Decides?" is to accurately inform the public, to share in the civil discourse, and to participate in the decision making process.
Protecting and preserving our watersheds for future generations is paramount.
As we face yet another crisis with our water, the problems will only get bigger and more expensive unless we rebuild and plan to maintain our infrastructure responsibly.
In the coming days, weeks and months ahead, you are cordially invited to join the discussion and help keep water in our hands, flowing fresh and clean, where it belongs!
The following events are listed with you in mind. These are opportunities for anyone needing good clean drinking water to listen, learn and participate in the decisions and solutions. Join us! Mondays at 7pm Cape Ann Discovery Center (At the Entrance to Ravenswood)
